Summary of DeKalb Rezoning and Variance Processes
Six times a year, DeKalb goes through a two month cycle for rezoning requests involving the Planning Department, Community Councils, the Planning Commission, and the Board of Commissioners. At two of the rezoning cycles, amendments to the Land Use Plan are also heard.
Variance requests are heard monthly by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
Administrative variances are granted by the county staff.
