*** CURRENT NEWS *** July 15th General Primary   The General Primary will be held on July 15th. Here is a list of candidates that will be on the ballot, check with Voter Registration to find out which legislative districts you are in.   Possible New Cities in DeKalb In Fulton County, Sandy Springs incorporated as a city after a change in state law allowed cities to be created within 3 miles of an existing city. After the incorporation of Sandy Springs, various suggestions have been made for new cities in DeKalb. Suggestions have been made for a city of Dunwoody. Citizens for Dunwoody web site organized by State Senator Dan Weber. The Citizens for Dunwoody site includes a proposed map for the City of Dunwoody. Suggestions have been made for a city of DeKalb. Several newspaper articles discuss the proposal. See Atlanta Business Chronicle .   Livable Center Initiatives See the Avondale LCI completed plan. Brookhaven Peachtree Livable Center Initiative See the Brookhaven LCI completed plan. The file is in pdf format and is 36 MB in size. The ARC has provided a Livable Center Initiative (LCI) grant to gather community input on what type of development there should be around the Brookhaven MARTA station and Peachtree Road over the next 20 years. Doraville Livable Center Initiative The ARC has provided a Livable Center Initiative (LCI) grant to gather community input on what type of development there should be in Doraville. MARTA is considering a belt-line rail path around downtown, as well as north-south and east-west expansions. For the Atlanta Regional Commission Transportation plans - ARC 2025 Regional Transportation Plan Citizens for Progressive Transit of Atlanta is a group for current or potential MARTA riders who are interested in working with MARTA to make comprehensive, long-term improvements to public transit in the greater Atlanta area.
